Our long-standing commitment to quality, service, and innovation has earned the trust of more than 5,000 educational institutions.With continued growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits and Compensation Specialist and to support our dynamic Human Resources team.Position SummaryThis role is the first point of contact for employees with questions about benefits. You'll assist with managing all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, leave of absence, and risk management. You'll handle day-to-day benefits tasks like enrollments, terminations, and changes, train other benefits staff, and ensure all data in HR systems is accurate and well-maintained. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and data reporting skills are key.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and manage leave requests and disability paperwork (medical, personal, FMLA, etc.)Maintain and update employee benefits records in HRIS systemsHandle benefits billing and train staff on proper proceduresCreate, maintain, and run reports to monitor benefits and leave trendsTrack metrics and provide analysis to guide decision-makingStay current on benefits, disability, and leave laws and trendsProduce weekly, monthly, and annual reports on benefits performanceAnswer employee and manager questions about benefits, enrollments, and plan changesSupport annual open enrollment, including communications and coordination with vendorsAssist employees with claims, plan changes, and insurance verificationsMaintain retiree insurance recordsHelp with new hire orientationsSupport risk management tasks, such as workers' compensation claims and OSHA reportingKeep employee insurance and medical information confidentialServe as liaison between employees and healthcare providers on claims and eligibility issuesPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Experience/Education3+ years in Human Resources with specialty in benefits administrationBachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experienceKnowledge of FMLA, STD, ADA, Affordable Care Act, and state/federal benefit lawsExperience with HRIS and benefits systemsStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information professionallyStrong organizational and multitasking skills, able to meet deadlinesComfortable working with both technical and administrative staffProficiency with Microsoft Office and HR reporting toolsAbility to work in diverse environmentsCorporate Resources, on behalf of our client located in Streamwood, IL is hiring a Benefits and Compensation Specialist.
