Lead Server

OverviewPosition SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Server to join our dining services team at our Westover location. This position reports directly to the Chef Manager and plays a key leadership role in supervising servers and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our residents. The Lead Server works closely with the Chef Manager and Hospitality Manager to maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction.This is an important hospitality role focused on creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued and cared for.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & SupervisionSupervise daily dining room operationsAssign duties and responsibilities to serversAssist with and oversee pre-service preparation before each mealAssign and monitor closing side work and cleaning dutiesCheck servers out after shifts to ensure all tasks are completed and the dining room is properly setAssist with training and onboarding of new dining room serversProvide supervision during special eventsService & Resident ExperienceGreet and interact with residents and guests in a friendly, professional mannerEnsure a high level of customer service throughout the dining experienceAssist servers with seating, bussing, meal delivery, and beverage serviceAnticipate and respond promptly to resident and guest needsAddress and resolve resident concerns; escalate feedback to the Hospitality Manager as neededAssist with Assisted Living (AL) meal serviceDining OperationsPrepare dining room, trays, linens, and service itemsStock dining areas, refrigerators, and freezersEnsure utensils and equipment are cleaned and ready for servicePerform dishwashing and cleaning proceduresCollect, clean, and reset food traysRoll and polish silverware; clean linens and placematsMaintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming dining areasRemove trash and maintain a safe, hazard-free work environmentFood Service & CompliancePrepare and deliver food trays efficiently and accuratelyTake and record food temperatures as requiredFollow all dietary guidelines and resident diet cardsEnsure all food handling complies with state and county health regulationsMaintain quality, cleanliness, and safety standards at all timesAdministrative DutiesAssist with scheduling and administrative tasksAttend all required in-service trainings and pre-shift meetingsQualificationsPrevious serving experience required; leadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of food safety and sanitation standardsAbility to lead, train, and motivate team membersRequirementsOpen availability required (weekdays, weekends, holidays, AM/PM shifts)Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout shiftMust be dependable, organized, and team-orientedWhy Join Us?Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in residents’ daily livesSupportive team environmentGrowth and leadership opportunities within dining servicesApply today to be part of a team that values hospitality, teamwork, and exceptional service.QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not requiredLicenses or other required certifications: NoneExperience: 1 year related experience preferably in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant, or similar preferredSpecialized knowledge, skills, or abilities: Excellent customer service skills
