This role is responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care. Evaluating patient outcomes and identifying available resources for patients is also a key responsibility. The position involves caring for patients ages 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses. Some patients may also have medical care needs. Common psychiatric diagnoses include major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. Management of patients needing or requesting detoxification may be part of the job. The role requires excellent team collaboration and decision-making under pressure.
