Core Java Developer (Order Management System)Location: 100% RemoteClient: Financial Services/Capital MarketsDuration: 6–12-month contract to hireOur financial services client is seeking a motivated Core Java Developer to join their Order Management System Development team to build and enhance their core real time trading platform. The developer will continually interact with multiple teams including product/traders/operations to implement new robust trading features and improve on our existing offerings. A successful candidate has a keen interest in developing low latency trading systems in Java.ResponsibilitiesDesign & develop robust software solutions for the Order Management SystemDevelops Core Java code from scratch working on a proprietary/in-house, low latency, financial trading platform for a high touch complex order workflow Order Management SystemMust be able to showcase excellent demonstration of data structure designs while analyzing how each data structure would function, and the run times associatedDevise new algorithms and data structures for target environment and platform attributes in alignment with architectural patternsCreate thorough test cases to ensure software stability and reliabilityCollaborate with traders and product team in researching and implementing changes to the trading systemCommunicate with operations teams about new features and existing behaviorsSupport production issues, including independently completing root-cause analysis and diagnosis.RequirementsBA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experienceCommunicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, particularly regarding changes to the trading systemInterface with the front office including traders and sales tradersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills; eager to ask questions; able to clearly explain ideasStrong collaborative and team skillsExperience with JUnit testingExperience with multi-threaded programmingNice To HavesProfessional experience in financial servicesStrong understanding of financial markets and electronic trading systemsExperience with Equity markets and/or derivatives, such as OptionsExperience with optimizing software performance and reducing latencyFamiliar with real time market data processingEquities, FIX, multicast, state order managementABOUT EIGHT ELEVEN:At Eight Eleven, our business is people.
