We help you move, build, and win.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Fractional CFO with deep experience in construction and/or home services (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, restoration, or similar trades) to serve as the acting CFO across multiple client companies.This is a hands-on leadership role, not an advisory position. You will step directly into the CFO seat, own the finance function, and partner with ownership and operations leaders to improve cash flow, margins, and operational performance.This opportunity is ideal for a senior Controller, Director of Finance, or current Fractional CFO who already operates at a CFO level and wants broader exposure, flexibility, and meaningful impact across multiple organizations. The role is execution-focused and relationship-driven, requiring someone who can make decisions, build scalable financial infrastructure, and lead with authority.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the financial leader for assigned client companies, providing hands-on oversight of the finance functionTranslate financial data into actionable operational insights and strategic recommendationsOwn the financial narrative and reporting delivered to owners, lenders, and boardsBuild and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts aligned with backlog, project timing, labor requirements, and material costsManage working capital, liquidity, and short-term and long-term cash planningOversee job costing accuracy, WIP schedules, backlog reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognitionMonitor change orders, margin fade/gain, and project-level cost performancePartner directly with operations leaders to improve job profitability and operational efficiencyLead the monthly close process and ensure accurate, timely financial reportingDeliver decision-ready reporting packages and financial insights to leadershipDevelop and monitor KPIs related to labor efficiency, gross margin, overhead absorption, utilization, and backlog healthManage banking, lending, and bonding relationships and prepare financial reporting packagesParticipate in lender, investor, and board-level financial discussionsImprove financial processes, internal controls, and reporting infrastructureOptimize accounting, ERP, and job costing systemsSupport multi-entity structures and scalable financial infrastructureLead recurring financial review meetings with client leadership teamsPresent financial performance, risks, and opportunities with executive-level clarity and confidenceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience; CPA and/or MBA preferredSignificant senior-level finance leadership experience supporting commercial construction, general contracting, specialty trades, or home services organizationsDemonstrated expertise in construction-specific financial operations, including:Job costing and project margin analysisWork-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and percentage-of-completion accountingCash flow forecasting tied to backlog and project cyclesLabor-driven P&L managementMulti-entity or complex operational environmentsExperience advising leadership teams within project-based, contract-driven revenue modelsExperience supporting companies typically ranging from $20M to $250M+ in annual revenueStrong financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario-planning capabilities within construction environmentsWorking knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards applicable to construction entitiesExperience with ERP/accounting systems commonly used in construction (e.g., Sage, Foundation, Viewpoint, etc.)Demonstrated ability to provide strategic financial advisory services in a consultative capacityStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present financial insights to ownership, executives, and board-level audiencesAbility to operate independently, manage multiple client priorities, and deliver outcomes within evolving business environments
