This position allows for 3 days per week remote / work from home. Salary: $115,000 - 120,000/year The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and efficient financial processes. The Accounting Manager supports budgeting, audit preparation, and grant reporting while supervising accounting staff as applicable. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization and supporting its mission-driven work.#LAT Responsibilities Manage daily accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payrollOversee month-end and year-end close processesPrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesMaintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standardsEnsure proper classification of restricted and unrestricted fundsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsAssist in preparing financial reports for leadership and the Board of DirectorsMonitor budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analysisSupport preparation of reports for grantors and fundersAssist with annual independent audit and preparation of audit schedulesSupport preparation of IRS Form 990 and other regulatory filingsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulationsMaintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policiesTrack restricted grants and contractsMonitor grant expenditures for compliance with funding requirementsAssist program managers with budget tracking and reportingSupervise accounting staff (e.g., Staff Accountant, AP/AR Clerk) as applicableMaintain accounting systems and recommend process improvementsSupport implementation of financial software or system upgradesRequirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience with nonprofit accounting and fund accountingStrong knowledge of GAAPExperience with financial reporting and reconciliationsProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelCPA license Required1+ years of supervisory experienceExperience managing grants and restricted funds$115,000 - $120,000 a year
