Co-Op Student - Electronics & IoT

BISSELL is currently looking for a paid, undergraduate student to join our Electronics & IoT Engineering team!Overview:The individual in this role will serve as a vital team member, reporting to a functional Manager or Staff Engineer working in the Electronics & IoT team. The co-op will perform a variety of day-to-day tasks but will also participate in larger scale projects and initiatives, to support the BISSELL product development cycle. This scope of this team ranges from advanced technology development all the way to production delivery, so there are opportunities to experience different phases of the engineering process.ResponsibilitiesSupport Electronics & IoT Engineers by performing research, design, prototyping, testing, data compilation, data analysis, and other tasks to help deliver Global Product Development projects.Use systematic problem solving to increase learning and solve problems robustly and permanently.Capture learnings related to BISSELL Electronics & IoT development to ensure the knowledge can be reused. Present to leadership and engineering peers.Participate in company-wide Intern/Co-Op Student activities as requested.QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Sophomore/junior level status preferred.3.0 GPA or greater preferred.Ability to work a full-time schedule throughout program (as designated by school), within BISSELL’s standard office hours.Demonstrated Leadership and Team Orientation skills.Systematic, hands-on approach to problem solving (demonstrated ability is ideal)Strong interest in electronic hardware and/or software development and related areas.Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfort in presenting in front of large groups of Associates across multiple business functions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, and familiar with configuration management systems (like Git), basic Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science coursework, and data analysis.Preferred Requirements:Has had some experience with a portion of the following skills:Embedded software: C/C++, Python, microcontrollers, protocols, algorithmsMobile app and cloud: AWS, iOS, Android, JavaScript/TypeScript, React NativeHardware design: Analog and digital circuit design, simulation & modeling, Altium
