Join us to be part of a company that invests in your success and strives to set new standards of excellence in the industry.Position OverviewThe Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently moving, storing, and tracking materials to ensure continuous production flow and accurate inventory control. This position supports multiple departments by supplying materials, assisting with receiving and shipping activities, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a normal work pace while following all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Exercise good judgement and make sound decisions when unexpected conditions ariseReview daily schedules for incoming and outgoing orders to prioritize workloadObtain all necessary materials, tools, and equipment required to perform assigned tasks Complete an equipment inspection report prior to operating any powered equipmentVerify that all equipment is safe for use before operating. If repairs are needed, follow proper lockout/tagout procedures, notify the supervisor and maintenance, and ensure a maintenance work order is completed.Create and apply accurate inventory labels to pallets or cases as requiredSupply materials to production areas as neededAssist with receiving operations when requiredWrap, stage, and load items for transfer trucks in an organized and timely mannerPlace extruded materials into designated blue racksAssist ALL departments with material movement as neededKeep the work area clean and organized in compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards Other duties as assigned FORKLIFT SAFETY GUIDELINESFollow Forklift Travel Safety ProceduresCarry loads close to the floor (approximately 4-6 inches) with the mast tilted slightly backObserve all traffic rules, right-of-way procedures, warning signs, overhead clearances, and floor load limitsSound the horn at cross aisles, exits, blind corners, and pedestrian walkwaysAlways travel at a safe speed and look in the direction of travelPassengers are not permitted- only one operator per piece of equipmentAlways yield the right of way to pedestrians, Once you begin to elevate the forks, ensure both the forklift and the load are clear of sprinkler pipes, racks, and other overhead structuresTilt the mast back slightly while lifting and raise loads carefully and smoothlyWhen the forklift is not in use, park it in a designated area, lower the forks, neutralize the controls, and turn off the powerUse Safe Work Methods And Lifting TechniquesBend at the knees, not the waist, and keep loads close to your body when lifting or carryingAvoid twisting or making side-to-side movements, turn your whole body insteadKeep your head and chin up while lifting to reduce strain on your backReport All IncidentsImmediately report any accidents, near misses, or injuries to your supervisorRequirementsQualifications:Ability to drive a forkliftOrganizational SkillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamReliable attendanceBasic Mathematical SkillsBasic Computer SkillsEducation And ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredWe offer competitive pay and great benefits to support your career and life outside of work:PTO & Holidays: Up to 13 days PTO + 10 paid holidays per yearInsurance Options: Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance CoverageHAS Contribution: $500 annually with a high-deductible health planRetirement Savings: 401(k) with company match (up to 4%)Attendance Bonus: Up to $2.00/hour extra for perfect monthly attendancePhysical DemandsThis department exposes workers to both heat and cold.
