AVP Senior Java Developer

Overview You will drive Java backend solutions to ensure Oracle upgrade readiness and application compatibility. Working within a cross-functional team, you’ll assess impacted applications, implement code and configuration changes, and support validation, deployment, and production stabilization. You’ll tackle connectivity, driver, and SQL issues while coordinating with DBA, DevOps, QA, and stakeholders to deliver a smooth upgrade path. This role combines hands-on development with deployment readiness and production support to safeguard critical enterprise apps. ResponsibilitiesAnalyze Java backend applications and services affected by Oracle database version upgrades and JDBC driver changesUpgrade Oracle JDBC drivers and related Java dependencies using Maven, Gradle, or equivalent toolsImplement Java and Spring Boot code changes to maintain compatibility with upgraded Oracle environmentsReview and update database connection configuration, pooling, datasource settings, SSL/TLS, environment variables, and application propertiesTroubleshoot Oracle connectivity, SQL execution, transactions, performance, timeouts, authentication, and driver compatibilityPerform unit, integration, regression testing, and defect remediation for upgrade-impacted applicationsSupport REST API validation, service integration testing, deployment, release coordination, and production readinessCollaborate with DBA, DevOps, QA, security, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve environment-specific issues and ensure controlled production deployment Key requirements7+ years of software engineering experience5+ years of Java/Spring Boot development in enterprise environments2+ years of Oracle connectivity, JDBC driver upgrades, database integration, or compatibility remediationStrong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skillsBachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)analytical thinkingtroubleshootingclear communicationJava backend developmentSpring BootREST APIs
