Speech and Language Pathologist ll - 30 hours/week, day shift

The SLP provides goal-directed, activity-oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in functional communication and daily life tasks. The SLP provides for continuation of effective performance through education of the patient, family, or support system. The SLP works in the acute care and/or outpatient setting and may be required to float to other facilities within the network.Job Description:Key ResponsibilitiesPerform appropriate assessment battery to evaluate patients' chief complaints, speech/language/cognitive/swallowing impairments, and functional limitationsDevelop comprehensive plans of care with appropriate, measurable, and functional goalsPlan and implement appropriate treatment activities to promote patients' communication, cognition, and/or swallowingProvide ongoing reassessment and modification of treatment plans in response to patients' progressOffer appropriate discharge planning and patient/family teaching, including home programs and recommendations for self-careComplete timely and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, and progress notesCollaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient careDemonstrate effective time management and meet department productivity standardsMaintain current knowledge of insurance regulations/requirements and limitations of reimbursement for professional servicesParticipate in professional development activities and mentorship programsMake appropriate referrals to other disciplines (e.g., Audiology, PT/OT, ENT, neuropsychology)QualificationsRequiredMaster's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology programCurrent Massachusetts SLP licensureCertificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or in a Clinical FellowshipCurrent BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certificationStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teamPreferredExperience in acute care and/or outpatient settingsAdditional certifications in specialized speech and language therapy techniquesEducation and ExperienceMaster's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology programRelevant clinical experience preferredLicenses and CertificationsCurrent Massachusetts SLP licensureCertificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or in a Clinical FellowshipCurrent BCLS certification Pay Range: $40.04 - $56.07The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
