Surgical Technologist 1 (Surg Tech)

Working days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays as needed by the department. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.Inova PRN Benefits and Perks:State-of-the-art medical and training facilitiesRetirement benefits with match from day oneFree Parking to all employeesExclusive savings opportunities to in-store events, theme parks, discounts, movie tickets and local offerings and so much more!Surgical Technologist Job Responsibilities:The Surgical Technologist 1 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure.Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases.Selects proper sterilization method of instruments/equipment; sterilizes before procedures, as necessary, and verifies instruments as sterile.Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic technique.Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.May perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Education: High School diploma or equivalentCertification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.License: Registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist required upon startPreferred Qualifications:Labor and Delivery experience preferred
