DepartmentsHuman ResourcesWork for the CountyEmployment OpportunitiesHuman ResourcesAbout UsWork for the CountyWork for the CountyHow to ApplyEmployment OpportunitiesEmployee BenefitsEmployees and RetireesEmployees and RetireesResources2026 Holiday ScheduleContact InformationHuman Resources11 North Washington StEaston, MD 21601410-770-8012410-770-8013Parks Maintenance WorkerClassification: Non-ExemptType of Position: Full-TimeClosing Date: ContinuousDepartment: Parks and RecreationSalary: 41,862 - $45,743 DOQPosition Reporting: Facilities Division ManagerSummaryThe Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining multiple venues including various parks and landings throughout the County.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvides excellent customer service to patrons and works as a team member with fellow employees in the department.Maintains all equipment in a functional condition including routine and preventative maintenance for all machinery, equipment, and any supplies.Performs routine care of assigned grounds including but not limited to trash removal, basic landscaping maintenance, ball field maintenance, marking and dragging fields, repairs to landings and other general maintenance needs.Maintains all ground areas including parks, trees, property lines, playgrounds, landings, fences, parking lots, bulkheads, slips, docks, finger piers, etc. Includes routine inspections and repairs.Makes minor repairs to tools and equipment used in general facility, grounds, and public landing maintenance.Performs routine maintenance at pool facility during summer season, including landscaping maintenance, pool furniture and fixture maintenance and other items, as necessary.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school or GEDOne year experience in general maintenanceValid Maryland driver’s licenseKnowledge of methods, practices, materials and tools used in general park maintenance and care of grounds a plus.Physical DemandsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.
