This position involves monitoring equipment, maintaining a clean facility, and ensuring safety for patrons.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesOperate the Zamboni and other ice resurfacing equipment.Monitor and maintain the quality of the ice surface, filling cracks and addressing any damage.Perform routine inspections and maintenance of rink facilities, including mechanical systems.Maintain cleanliness of the rink area, locker rooms, and surrounding facilities.Assist with setup and breakdown of events and activities.Ensure compliance with safety protocols for both patrons and staff.Respond to maintenance and repair requests in a timely manner.Perform basic facility repairs as needed (lighting, plumbing, etc.).QualificationsMust be 18 years or olderExperience in facility maintenance or similar role.Knowledge of ice resurfacing and refrigeration systems is preferred.Ability to operate machinery (e.g., Zamboni) and basic hand tools.Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a cold environment.Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.BenefitsTalbot County Government employees are provided one of the most competitive pay and benefit packages in the area.
