Vice President of Impact
Summary: The Vice President (VP) of Impact is a senior leader of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank (GBRFB) responsible for executing the Food Bank’s impact strategy through high-performing programs, partnerships, and performance management systems. This role oversees the day-to-day of programs and ensures alignment with broader organizational priorities and the Feeding America network.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the VP of Impact translates strategic direction into effective, measurable programs that expand access to food, improve nutrition, and strengthen community outcomes. The role is accountable for program performance, agency-level effectiveness, and continuous improvement across the Food Bank’s impact portfolio.Job Duties and Responsibilities:1. Strategy Execution & Performance ManagementTranslate the Food Bank’s strategic plan and Feeding America priorities into clear program goals, implementation plans, and measurable outcomesDrive execution against annual and multi-year impact targetsMonitor performance and adjust strategies to ensure progress toward key outcomesProvide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on program performance and community impact2. Program Management & Operational ExcellenceLead the execution of all programs, including Child Nutrition, Senior Grocery, Food is Medicine, Community Services, Mobile Market and other agency supportEnsure programs are within budget, efficient, scalable, and consistently delivered with quality and dignityIdentify and implement improvements to increase reach, effectiveness, and client outcomesSupport the development and rollout of new initiatives aligned with organizational priorities3. Agency Relations and ManagementOversee relationships with partner agencies and community-based organizationsStrengthen agency performance through standards, training, resource alignment, and accountability measuresEnsure equitable distribution of resources and services across the service areaCollaborate with agency partners to improve service delivery and better meet community needs4. Data & Continuous ImprovementImplement and manage systems to track output and outcome metrics aligned with Feeding America standardsUse data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvementSupport a culture of data-informed decision-making and accountability across the impact teamPartner with leadership to align reporting with donor and network requirements5. Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Development Team to ensure programs are aligned with funding opportunities and grant requirementsCollaborate with Operations to coordinate program delivery and food distribution logisticsWork with Finance to monitor program budgets and ensure responsible resource utilizationSupport organizational alignment around shared goals and priorities6. Community Engagement & PartnershipsMaintain and grow relationships with key local stakeholders (healthcare providers, schools, community organizations, and government agencies)Represent the Food Bank in community meetings, coalitions, and collaborative initiativesSupport participation in Feeding America initiatives and peer learning opportunities7. Team Leadership & CultureLead and develop a high-performing Impact team, including program, partnership, and data functionsSet clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide coaching and developmentFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementPromote values of equity, respect, and service in all aspects of program deliveryGeneral Duties and Responsibilities: As a part of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank team, all employees play an essential role and are expected to:Demonstrate and encourage a professional and positive attitude in all job-related activities.Accomplish all work activities in a safe and timely manner within assigned time frames.Report and/or correct deficiencies that constitute immediate threats to health and safety.Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor which are consistent with the definition and intent of the job description.All Food Bank employees are considered critical first responders during emergency events (Hurricanes, Pandemics, etc.). This will require extreme flexibility of work schedule and hours during such events.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required (Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, Nutrition, Policy, or related field)8–10+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit, public sector, or mission-driven organizationsDemonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex programs or portfoliosAbility to coordinate multiple projects/events and adhere to deadlines in a high-energy, fast-paced environmentStrong analytical skills with experience using data to guide strategy and measure outcomesAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to communicate effectively before groups of customers and employees, both in person and via electronic correspondence.
