Embedded Software Engineer (C Programming)

*Summary/Objective* The senior software engineer will develop software for North American products, including shifter systems and actuators. Development includes documenting work to maintain base and general practices for ASPICE level 2, ISO-26262 with ASIL B safety goals and managing cyber security, depending on the project. *Essential Functions* * Develop software for products based on customer and/or internal requirements. NOTE: Software development can include requirements specification/review, design/implementation with review, and testing. * Interface and communicate with team members performing electrical, electronic, and mechanical design for products. * Interface and communicate with internal/external customers for products and support any issues that occur during software development. * Partake and support any relevant root cause analysis. * Support the development of ISO 26262 for product development. * Develop product with appropriate ASPICE level 2 documentation to show base practices and general practices are followed. * Adhere to the policies and procedures. * Support the APQP process. * Other duties as assigned. *Competencies* * Technical Writing * Professional Communication * Personal Effectiveness *Travel Requirements* * Low (10%), mostly within the United States and Mexico. *Required Education and Experience* * B.S. Electrical or Computer Engineering NOTE: A related degree may also be acceptable (ex. B.S. Computer Science). * At least 10 years of experience developing software for the automotive industry. * Experience with the C programming language. * Experience with one or more microcontroller families. * Experience reading circuit schematics and component data sheets. * Experience developing software for automotive applications. * Experience with hardware/software integration. * Experience with the use of test equipment (ex. oscilloscope, multi-meter, power supply). *Preferred Experience* * Experience with one or more assembly languages. * Experience developing software without the use of a real-time operating system. * Experience with one or more static analysis tools. * Experience with automotive vehicle networks (ex.
