Math Teacher [2026-27 school year]
Position SummaryNewark Academy is seeking a dynamic Math teacher to join our Math Department for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching mathematics and a demonstrated capacity to embrace student-centered, skills-focused, and culturally competent practices. The Math Department faculty is focused on encouraging inquiry and application as well as sharing the love of programming and systems with students. Faculty are encouraged to be involved in the life of the school through clubs, activities, and athletics.Desired Qualifications:Experience teaching math in middle school, upper school, or higher education settings. Professionals in industry or related fields or with non-traditional paths to education are also encouraged to apply.Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferredExperience working with and supporting a diverse community of students, parents, and colleaguesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Experience working in independent schools is preferred but not requiredFlexibility to work on a rotating block schedule; classes do not run at the same time each dayResponsibilities:Create a positive, student-centered environment and work collegially with peersPrepare lessons to deliver to assigned classesParticipate in school-sponsored IB training, if neededMeet school guidelines regarding grading, recordkeeping, and use of the learning management system to post timely information about classesParticipate in school-wide activities such as workshops, special events, and professional meetingsEngage in the life of Newark AcademySalary:Salary range $65,000 - $85,000.
