You will oversee a team of freight forwarders and work closely with clients to ensure their shipments are handled efficiently and effectively. You will need to have strong industry knowledge, leadership skills, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee all aspects of freight forwarding operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory managementCoordinate with carriers, logistics providers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of shipmentsPrepare and process all necessary shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarationsManage and mentor a team of freight forwarders, providing training and support as neededCommunicate regularly with clients to ensure their shipping needs are being met, and to provide updates on shipment statusMonitor industry trends and developments, and adjust operations as needed to stay competitive and meet customer demandEducational background / Work experienceA Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is required for this position.Professional certifications in freight forwarding, such as from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA), may be preferred.3-5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field.Experience managing a team and working with clients is preferred.Skills & CompetenciesMathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and ratesOther SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and project management skillsLeadership and team management skillsProblem-solving and analytical skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / ProcessesKnowledge of air freight logistics and customs regulationsUnderstanding of trade laws and regulationsLanguage skillsFluency in English is requiredKnowledge of additional languages is a plusComputer LiteracyProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with logistics software and systems is preferredFor this position, the expected base pay is: $52,500 - $71,000 / Annual.Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.DSV offers a comprehensive benefits program designed to support the health and well-being of employees and their families.
