Your job is to make it secure, scalable, cost-efficient, and easy for engineers to build on.This is not an application development role. You will operate at the layer where bad decisions become outages, and good decisions disappear because everything just works.ResponsibilitiesDesign and manage GCP project structure, networking, and core infrastructureOwn Kubernetes cluster infrastructure (provisioning, upgrades, scaling, reliability)Define and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) standards and patternsImprove system-level architecture for scalability, resilience, and performanceBuild reusable infrastructure patterns that product teams can safely adoptReduce friction for developers while maintaining strong guardrailsPartner with engineering teams to improve how services are deployed and operatedManage and evolve base observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing foundations)Build and maintain infrastructure for secrets management, IAM, and security primitivesEnsure infrastructure is secure by default, not by exceptionImprove infrastructure reliability and reduce systemic riskLead and contribute to incident response when infrastructure is involvedIdentify and eliminate infrastructure-level failure modes and bottlenecksDrive cloud cost visibility and optimizationBuild systems and practices that balance performance, reliability, and costPartner with leadership to align infrastructure investment with business needsShape infrastructure strategy across teams and servicesDrive adoption of standards and best practices across engineeringIdentify systemic issues and lead cross-team improvementsRequirements5–10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SREDeep experience with Google Cloud (GCP) or equivalent cloud platforms and distributed systemsStrong expertise in:Networking (VPCs, load balancing, DNS)Kubernetes and container orchestrationInfrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)Experience building and operating production-scale infrastructure systemsStrong programming/scripting skills (Go, Python, etc.) for automation and toolingAbility to work across teams and influence technical directionPreferred QualificationsExperience with multi-region or high-availability infrastructure designBackground in infrastructure security or complianceExperience building internal developer platforms or toolingFamiliarity with observability systems (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.)Annual US Hiring Range: $150,000 - $175,000*A candidate’s actual placement within this range will depend on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.#LI-Remote#LI-HybridUJET is an Equal Opportunity EmployerUJET provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.Compliance ResponsibilitiesSecurity, data protection and compliance (SDPC) are paramount to the success of our partnerships.
