MUSIC TEACHER - SUMNER HIGH SCHOOL - RSU 24 - 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Join Sumner Memorial School, located in the picturesque town of Sullivan, Maine. Nestled just 15 minutes east of Ellsworth and 40 miles from Bangor, our brand-new Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus serves both Sumner Middle School and Sumner Memorial High School. With approximately 208 students in grades 9-12, our school fosters an environment that challenges students while providing a safe and respectful learning space. Our mission is to empower students to navigate diverse environments and contribute meaningfully to their communities.We are seeking a team oriented, collaborative, energetic, and creative high school music, chorus & band teacher. This full-time position will begin with the 2026-2027 school year. Our ideal candidate will work to lead and build our music/band program; develop students' understanding and appreciation of the art of music; as well as identify, promote and develop instrumental musical expression. The successful candidate will have access to our state-of-the-art facilities, including a brand new auditorium, band/choral room, and individualized practice rooms.The successful candidate will hold or be able to hold a Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification 614 (K-12 Music). Must hold a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check. Pay is based upon experience and level of education.
