Senior Quality Engineer - Located in Kansas City, KS

Work Location: 9820 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS 66109 Job Overview: The Senior Quality Engineer plays a critical role in advancing manufacturing excellence by driving initiative across safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This position leads process development and improvement projects, mentors quality team members, and provides strategic direction to ensure robust quality systems and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Highlights of your role: Supervise Quality Auditors and Quality Technicians, including hiring, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions. Mentor and develop team members to build technical and quality capabilities. Serve as Process Quality Lead in PPT/IPT projects. Identify, coordinate, and drive continuous improvement activities within production and business processes. Develop and coach others on APQP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality concepts throughout the organization. Research and implement new manufacturing technologies and techniques related to quality. Investigate quality concerns to determine root cause and implement corrective actions using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA. Prevent quality issues from leaving the facility through proactive measures and robust quality systems. Lead major projects and initiatives aligned with ROI and business objectives. Manage multiple priorities effectively with strong organizational and planning skills. Partner with cross-functional teams to influence and drive change across departments. Communicate effectively through strong verbal and written skills. Embrace new technologies and continuous learning to adapt to evolving business needs and industry trends. Also want to make sure you have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or an Associate degree with related field experience, is required ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification, is requiredStrong written and oral communication are required A minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing setting is ideal Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required Demonstrated, strong project management skills required Excellent self-direction and time management.
