Turbine OperatorEWSO Field - The Woodlands, TX 77380OverviewLevel Entry Position Type Full Time Job Shift 2 weeks on / 2 weeks offDescriptionTurbine OperatorJob DescriptionDepartment: Power GenerationJob Status: Full-TimeFLSA Status: Salary, Non-ExemptReports To: Turbine Operations ManagerLocation: Multiple states within the U.S.Amount of Travel Required: >95%Work Schedule:Rotational: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks offThursday-Wednesday shift (additional travel before and after)Positions Supervised: N/APOSITION SUMMARY: Under direct supervision and / or advisement, the Turbine Operator operates and maintains gas turbine packages and related equipment for the company.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")Operates and maintains gas turbine packages and other related equipment.Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping practices of power gen operational areas.Provides trouble shooting oversite on gas turbine and human machine interfaces.Understands utilization and application of available software.Conducts work in accordance with safety rules, standard operating procedures, and workplace policies.Assists with the evaluation of operational readiness of gas turbine and related equipmentMay aid in implementation of more efficient working tasks.Assists with installation and commissioning of gas turbine packages and related equipment.Responsible for performing external visual checks of equipment, including but not limited walkaround inspections.Daily completion of operational logs per standard operating procedures.Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Successfully passes background check and preemployment drug screening.Possesses a valid U.S. Driver's License.Daily in-person, predictable attendance.Proficient in the spoken English language. *EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVELHigh School Diploma or GED. Electrical Generation Theory or Navy GSE certification preferred.Minimum 1 year of previous gas turbine controls/instrumentation/ electrical experienceQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIESAbility to read, write, and comprehend fundamental English.Ability to read electrical/controls drawings.Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H 2 S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.Attends and successfully completes annual safety recertification training.Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks.Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.Basic working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)Fully knowledgeable, compliant and takes initiative to promote and work with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn company platforms.Possess strong interpersonal skills to include verbal and written communication skills.Able to communicate in a technical manner around clients.Fundamental knowledge of equipment controls and logicQUALIFICATIONS FOR ADVANCEMENT: (Promotions may occur only after the following qualifications have been satisfied. When required to go to a wellsite, employees will rideshare with multiple employees. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions, employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and safety gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies.
