Bookkeeper (Law Firm Experience Required) - Los Angeles

In-House BookkeeperDirect Counsel is representing a well-established, fast-paced personal injury law firm seeking an experienced In-House Bookkeeper to oversee the firm's daily financial operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with prior law firm experience and strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooksManage all accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsOversee trust (IOLTA) accounts in compliance with legal and ethical standardsPerform monthly bank reconciliations and account balancingPrepare financial statements and reports for firm leadershipAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementProcess bi-weekly payroll and track employee benefitsCoordinate with external CPA for tax preparation and annual filingsEnsure compliance with applicable state bar accounting rules and regulationsMaintain organized financial records and support audits as neededQualificationsMinimum of 4 years of bookkeeping experience, with law firm experience requiredStrong understanding of accounting principles and trust accounting (IOLTA)Proficiency in QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online preferred) and Microsoft Office SuiteExceptional attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and maintain strict confidentialityExperience with legal case management software (e.g., Filevine) is a plusCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $90,000 $120,000 annually (based on experience)Comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) and retirement plan optionsFlexible spending account (FSA)Paid time off, sick leave, and holidaysParental leave and paid trainingProfessional development supportEmployee discounts and advancement opportunitiesFree parkingSupportive, collaborative work environment
