Job DescriptionDeputy Chief Operations Officer (DCOO)Second-in-command to the COO | Execution-Focused Operational Leader (Relocation to Baton Rouge)Core PurposeThe Deputy COO ensures the bank's day-to-day operations run smoothly while executing the strategic vision set by the CEO and COO. This role bridges strategy and execution - turning high-level plans into measurable operational performance.Where This Role SitsReports to: Chief Operations OfficerOversees: Operations, Deposit Ops, Loan Ops, IT (sometimes), Retail Ops, Vendor Management, Facilities, and Process ImprovementOften supervises department heads directlyActs as COO in their absenceJob ResponsibilitiesOperational LeadershipOversees daily operational workflow across branches and back-office functionsImproves efficiency in loan processing, deposit operations, treasury services, and customer service functionsDrives consistency across multiple markets (Baton Rouge, NOLA, Jackson, etc.)Process & Risk ManagementIdentifies bottlenecks and improves internal controlsPartners with Compliance, Risk, and BSA to ensure operational integrityPrepares departments for audits and regulatory examsTechnology & Systems OversightWorks closely with core systems, LOS platforms, and digital banking initiativesHelps implement operational tech upgradesManages vendor relationships and contract negotiationsTeam DevelopmentCoaches operational leadersImplements performance metricsBuilds scalable infrastructure for growthStrategic ExecutionTranslates strategic growth goals (asset growth, branch expansion, market entry) into operational readinessEnsures staffing, systems, and policies can support expansionIdeal Background10+ years in banking operationsExperience with nCino and CECL Software preferredExperience in larger community or regional bank settingsStrong understanding of loan operations, deposit ops, and treasury servicesRegulatory exam exposureExperience with SOX ControlsProcess improvement or Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plusQualified candidates, please apply directly or contact: wendy.hicks@gogpac.com or call 605-403-5157
