The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining critical mainframe applications, ensuring system stability, resolving production incidents, and implementing enhancements to meet business requirements.The candidate should have hands-on expertise in Mainframe technologies, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and experience supporting mission-critical applications in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide L2/L3 Production Support for Mainframe applications.Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues within established SLAs.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.Develop, test, and deploy code changes and enhancements.Work closely with business stakeholders, application owners, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents.Analyze batch failures, online transaction issues, and system performance problems.Support release management, code migrations, and production deployments.Participate in on-call support rotation and critical incident management.Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.Ensure compliance with change management and ITIL processes.Required Technical SkillsMainframe TechnologiesStrong experience with COBOLJCL (Job Control Language)CICSVSAMDB2IMS (preferred)Mainframe Utilities and File ManagementProduction SupportExperience in Production Support and Incident ManagementBatch Monitoring and Scheduling tools (Control-M, CA7, OPC, etc.)Problem Management and Root Cause AnalysisPerformance Monitoring and TroubleshootingChange and Release ManagementDatabaseDB2 SQL DevelopmentQuery Optimization and Performance TuningTools & MethodologiesServiceNow or similar Ticketing ToolITIL Process KnowledgeVersion Control and Change Management toolsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.5+ years of Mainframe application development and support experience.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Experience supporting critical production applications in a 24x7 environment.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across global teams.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare domains.Exposure to Agile methodologies.Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation initiatives.Experience with modernization projects involving Mainframe integration with distributed systems.Key CompetenciesProduction Incident ResolutionProblem Solving & Root Cause AnalysisApplication SupportStakeholder CommunicationOperational ExcellenceContinuous Improvement
