This role provides psychiatric and medical services for adult clients within a psychosocial milieu. The Psychiatric APN assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence based practice by maintaining a realization of their own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and other members of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.The Advanced Practice Nurse provides an advanced level of nursing care based upon graduate education and broad experience with behavioral health patients and their families.QualificationsAPN LicenseRN LicensePMHNP CertificationCDS and DEABLS1+ years of PMHNP experienceSchedulePer Diem DaysEssential FunctionsThe APN practices in collaboration with the physicians, clinicians, case managers and other health care professionals.Assists the psychiatrist with medication clinicAdministers medication orally and parenterallySchedules and documents physical exams and lab testsPerforms AIMES Screenings, Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, intakes, consults and maintains a case load and all pertinent clinical documentationFacilitates groupsParticipates in department QA/QIPIs responsible for knowledge of the patient population served and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethicsThe APN practices and conforms to the guidelines set by the NJ Board of Nursing, NJSA 13:37 for the regulation of nurses in advance practice as Nurse PractitionersThe APN is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physicianThe ANP provides behavioral health care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patientsContact a Physician Recruiter
