Business Developer

Our client is a fast-growing mechanical and plumbing subcontractor specializing in HVAC, ductwork, sheet metal, plumbing, and general contracting based in Altadena, CA. We are seeking a field-based Business Developer with an active network of GC and owner contacts ready to activate from day one.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and grow relationships with general contractors, facility owners, and project decision-makersIdentify new opportunities in both public and private sector constructionTarget major commercial projects; facilities, multi-family, industrial, institutionalCoordinate closely with estimators to ensure proposals are competitive and well-positionedRepresent the company at networking events, industry meetings, and client entertainmentDevelop strategies to break into new GC accounts and expand within existing onesTrack pipeline, follow up diligently, and report on business development activityQualificationsProven business development experience in mechanical, HVAC, or construction servicesStrong working knowledge of mechanical systems; you need to speak credibly with estimators and GCsExisting network of GC contacts, facility managers, or project owners you can bring to the tableSkill at finding decision makers and getting meetings that others can'tExperience selling services (not equipment) in the construction tradesComfortable working both public and private sector marketsSelf-directed, field-oriented, and entrepreneurial in approachTarget Markets & Key RelationshipsGeneral contractors in both public and private sectorsMajor facilities, commercial buildings, multi-family, and institutional ownersKey GC relationships in the LA marketCompensationBase salary: $140,000Commission structure built into overall project estimatesWork ArrangementField-based role with flexibilityHome base: Altadena, CAPocketbook Agency is acting solely as a recruiting and placement firm for this position and is not the employer of record for this role unless otherwise explicitly stated.
