Job Title: CNC Mill Programmer (3-, 4-, and 5-Axis)Location: Southampton, MA or Manchester, CT (On-site)Employment Type: Full-TimeDepartment: Manufacturing / EngineeringPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Programmer to support a high-mix, low-to-medium volume job shop specializing in complex aerospace and defense components. This role focuses on multi-axis CNC programming, process development, and production support using Mastercam.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using MastercamProgram complex parts on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling machinesDefine machining strategies, tooling, and setups for precision componentsPerform program simulation, validation, and troubleshootingSupport setup, prove-out, and first article runs (FAI)Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teamsCreate setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentationDrive cycle time reduction and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with GD&T, blueprint, and quality standardsRequired Qualifications5+ years of CNC milling programming experienceStrong proficiency in Mastercam (multi-axis)Experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machiningBackground in aerospace/defense or precision machiningExperience machining tight tolerances (<0.0005")Hands-on experience with titanium, Inconel, and hardened alloysStrong knowledge of GD&T, blueprints, tooling, and workholdingExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in job shop / high-mix manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with CAD/solid modeling toolsExposure to ERP systems (e.g., Epicor)Work EnvironmentMix of programming (office) and shop-floor supportHands-on collaboration with cross-functional teamsManufacturing environment with standard PPE requirementsKey SkillsMulti-axis CNC programmingProcess optimization & efficiencyPrecision machiningCross-functional collaborationAttention to detail
