Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor & Delivery unit . This individual will provide essential clinical leadership in the delivery of quality, patient-centered care. Utilizing the complete nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—the RN will manage, delegate, and document care for both the patient and their family. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will ensure open and effective communication with colleagues, mitigate variances from patient care goals, and provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families throughout the birthing process. Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Formulate, implement, and evaluate personalized nursing care plans within the Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units. Direct Clinical Care: Perform a wide range of professional nursing services supporting patients through labor, delivery, recovery, and post-partum stages. Communication: Effectively communicate clinical updates and educational information to patients, families, and multidisciplinary hospital staff. Variance Management: Identify and troubleshoot variations from established patient wellness goals, implementing collaborative clinical solutions. Supervision: Delegate and supervise care components appropriately to ancillary staff while ensuring strict adherence to hospital protocols and the nursing process. Requirements Required Experience & Education: Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience . Hands-on Post-Partum experience is required. Required Certifications: Must hold and maintain current AHA certifications in: Basic Life Support ( BLS ) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS ) Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
