Travel Stepdown Nurse (RN) - Dewey, AZ
Step into a travel nursing opportunity in Dewey, AZ, providing care in a 10-bed Multi Care Unit that manages a tri-level acuity patient population. This role centers on delivering expert nursing across ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical patients without floating between units, ensuring focused and specialized care.Responsibilities:Manage complex patient care in a combined acuity unit, including ICU (1:2 ratio), PCU (1:4 ratio), and medical-surgical telemetry (1:5-6 ratio).Provide primary care when nurse aides are unavailable (1:3 patient ratio).Administer and titrate critical infusions such as sedation, vasopressors, and insulin.Utilize advanced skills including interpretation of cardiac monitors and 12-lead EKGs.Collaborate with respiratory therapists supporting ventilator and non-invasive ventilation equipment.Participate in weekend and holiday rotations.Float to Emergency Care, MST, Pediatric, and alternate campus ICU/PCU units with appropriate notice.Adhere to a flexible 12-hour shift schedule: 0700-1900 or 1930-0730.Engage in hospital and unit orientation to maintain certification and competency.Qualifications:Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice.Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med-Surg in larger facilities with strong clinical skills.BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory.Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam (minimum 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing).Must comply with regional radius restrictions and CommonSpirit employment rules.About Dewey, AZ: Dewey offers a tranquil, small-town environment with beautiful natural surroundings.
