As a Stepdown RN, you'll care for patients who are stable enough to leave critical care but still need close monitoring. Think of it as the unit where your clinical instincts stay sharp and your multitasking skills get a proper workout (cardio optional, but likely).Key Responsibilities:Provide care for patients transitioning from ICU or requiring higher acuity monitoringPerform detailed patient assessments and continuous monitoringAdminister medications, IV therapies, and cardiac drips as neededInterpret telemetry and respond to changes in patient conditionCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teamsEducate patients and families on care plans and recovery processMaintain accurate and timely documentationEnsure adherence to safety and clinical protocolsRequirements:Active RN license in Arizona or compact stateMinimum 2 years of Stepdown, Telemetry, or ICU experienceStrong cardiac monitoring and critical thinking skillsExperience with drips and high-acuity patients preferredAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentBLS and ACLS certifications required
