We are committed to developing leaders in the field who take pride in execution and accountability while building high-performing teams.Position SummaryThe HVAC Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing field operations on assigned commercial mechanical projects. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Advanced UT's standards for quality and professionalism.Project assignments will be based in the Salt Lake City metro area and surrounding markets.Key Job DutiesLead and manage onsite HVAC construction as a unified and collaborative teamOversee day-to-day field operations on medium to large commercial mechanical projectsManage foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractorsCollaborate with the Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedulesPrepare and manage two-week look-ahead schedulesAttend project handoff meetings and review scope, plans, specifications, and contract documentsEnsure proper installation of all HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, RTUs, chillers, boilers, and VRF systemsEnforce Advanced UT safety policies and site-specific safety plansConduct weekly toolbox talks and ensure required safety documentation is completedSubmit incident reports and quality documentation in a timely mannerMaintain high quality control standards and address deficiencies immediatelyManage project deliveries, laydown areas, and jobsite logisticsSubmit material requisitions in advance and maintain adequate material inventory onsiteIdentify tool and equipment needs and coordinate rentals as necessaryMaintain accurate Daily Field Logs, manpower reports, and project documentationUtilize mobile technology and construction management tools to track project progressAssist the Project Manager with job cost tracking, production monitoring, and billing supportOrganize and lead weekly coordination meetings with field staff and subcontractorsTrack productivity and hold field teams accountable for performanceParticipate in project close-out and ensure proper as-built documentationMaintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsiteQualifications7+ years of commercial HVAC/mechanical field experience3+ years of leadership experience as a Superintendent or Senior ForemanStrong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and installation practicesProven experience leading crews on ground-up and/or large tenant improvement projectsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specificationsStrong understanding of construction safety, quality standards, and jobsite complianceExperience coordinating with General Contractors and other tradesProficiency in Microsoft Office; MS Project experience preferredStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesAbility to lead, motivate, and develop field personnelOSHA 30 certification preferredExperience in the Utah market preferredWhy Join Kelso Industries?Join us and be part of a team dedicated to creating efficient, sustainable, and high-performance environments that make a lasting impact across the industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors.Here you will experience:Growth Opportunities: Develop new skills, take on exciting challenges, and advance your career in meaningful ways.Company Culture: You'll thrive in an environment that supports your growth, values your contributions, and makes work fulfilling and enjoyable.Impact: Your work directly contributes to meaningful outcomes, allowing you to see the difference you make and feel a sense of purpose every day.Competitive Compensation & Benefits: You'll be rewarded fairly for your contributions while enjoying perks that enhance your financial security, health, and overall well-being.
