Backed by a NYC-based structural engineer with extensive building envelope and façade expertise, we deliver reliable service and actionable guidance for necessary repairs.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, for a Building Envelope Inspector. The inspector will conduct comprehensive building envelope and parapet inspections in compliance with Local Law 126 and DOB regulations. Responsibilities include performing condition assessments, identifying Safe or Unsafe conditions, capturing detailed photo documentation, and preparing clear, concise inspection reports. The role may involve close-up evaluations requiring physical access to external building facades and roofs, and providing clients with recommendations for necessary repairs.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.Experience in Quality Control and Quality Management to ensure inspections meet all required standards and regulations.Proficiency in Inspection techniques and Testing methodologies specific to building envelopes and parapets.Ability to provide Training and guidance on compliance requirements and proper maintenance practices.Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently on-site.Physical ability to conduct close-up inspections at heights using scaffolding, lifts, and other access methods.Previous experience in building envelope inspections, façade assessments, or structural engineering is a plus.Knowledge of NYC building codes and Local Law 126 requirements is highly desirable.
