Engineering Manager

JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating assigned projects to ensure objectives are met within established timelines and budgets. This includes leading internal and external project review meetings, maintaining key program documentation, facilitating customer communication, managing and publishing open issues, and developing and tracking project schedules. The role also provides first‐level resolution of project‐related issues and ensures compliance with all TQC/QS9000 requirementsEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProject & Program ManagementReview project proposals to determine scope, timing, resource needs, and budget requirements.Coordinate the plant's VA/VE activities with relevant departments.Deliver customer presentations regarding timing, product performance, and program updates (EWO, TECA, PCR, etc.).Maintain and communicate the SDT open issues list; identify and track key program issues.Review status reports, adjust project plans as needed, and prepare reports for management and customers.Manage product engineering activities from Phase V through Phase IX per TQC procedures.Oversee plant engineering activities, including new product introductions and product launch efforts.Ensure adherence to TECA, PCR, ER, and other required documentation processes.Manufacturing & Engineering SupportEnsure creation and maintenance of Process FMEAs and related work instructions.Support setup and maintenance of production tooling and equipment.Participate in plant objective setting, planning, and performance reviews.Maintenance LeadershipManage and implement the plant maintenance program using automotive best practices.Monitor spare parts, supplies, and equipment inventories; initiate reorders as needed.Maintain the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders, spare parts, and equipment history.Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve plant operations and solve maintenance-related issues.Ensure maintenance technicians are properly trained, equipped, and motivated.Continuously review plant equipment conditions to reduce downtime and identify improvement opportunities.Plan and schedule preventative maintenance based on equipment history and manufacturer recommendations.Prioritize maintenance tasks, schedule work effectively, and manage overtime and vacation scheduling.Safety, Quality & ComplianceParticipate in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process to support root cause analysis.Ensure completion of required safety audits for self and team.Enforce safe work procedures and compliance with plant safety standards.Support Job Safety Analysis and contribute to achieving JCMS and plant safety goals.Exercise authority to stop production if a safety or quality concern is identified.Education & ExperienceBachelors Degree in Engineering or related field5-10 Years of Strong Manufacturing Engineering Experience5 Years of Managerial ExperiencePRIMARY LOCATIONWest Point Facility
