About the RoleWick Phillips is seeking a dynamic and dedicated attorney to join our Insurance Coverage practice with a policyholder focus. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with partners and senior associates, providing top-tier legal representation to policyholders in complex commercial insurance coverage matters. This role requires at least 4 years of experience in policyholder representation work, exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The Insurance Coverage associate will analyze insurance policies, draft and review legal documents, prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, and trials, communicate with clients and stakeholders, and conduct legal research. If you are a motivated and talented attorney looking for a collaborative environment to advance your career, we encourage you to apply.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with firm attorneys on client matters, providing strategic support for policyholder representationPrepare, review, and finalize coverage-related analyses, pleadings, motions, and memorandaCommunicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendorsManage and respond to written discovery requests in coverage disputesAppear in court hearings on behalf of policyholder clientsTake and defend depositionsPrioritize and manage multiple cases and deadlinesBe able to work in office as this is not a remote roleAccurately track billable hours and ensure timely reportingUphold and embody the firm’s core values in all professional activitiesQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law in the state of Texas5+ years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in policyholder representation work within insurance coverage lawExceptional analytical, research, and writing skillsProficiency in litigation practice, including understanding common pleadings and motions in state and federal courtExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStellar interpersonal and active listening skillsAbility to establish positive working relationships with colleagues at all levelsA proactive attitude with a willingness to support the Firm’s needs and clientsExceptional time management, follow-through, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Strong discretion in handling sensitive and confidential informationTechnologically proficient with experience using legal software and tools, including Westlaw, iManage, Adobe, and Microsoft Office SuitePhysically able to lift and carry 10-40 pounds, move between floors, sit for extended periods, and perform office-related physical activities as neededAbout UsWick Phillips is a full-service business law firm founded in 2004, with nearly 110 attorneys across offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin.
