Continuity of care is facilitated in this unit through ICU transition for optimization of clinical outcomes. Registered nurses provide care in conjunction with the nursing assistant and medical team. Assignments are based on the patient’s needs, the geographical location of the patients, and the resources available. The charge nurse does not have a patient assignment. BLS is required upon hire. PCU provides short-term care for acute care needs. The team strives to provide a quiet, peaceful environment where the patient and the family can focus on quality of life.
