Medical Receptionist
Caring. Connecting. Growing Together. The Medical Receptionist is responsible to the Center Administrator and provides a combination of front office and referral coordinator functions. This role is primarily responsible for appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, answering incoming calls and other related clerical functions. As a secondary function, this role may also be called upon to assist with medical management data entry and referral functions.Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM- 5 PM with RotLocation: Onsite - 3010 W Azeele St, Tampa, FL 33609Primary Responsibilities:Receptionist Duties:Responsible for accurately and professionally handling all front desk operations including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling all appointments, balancing daily collections, addressing routine inquiries, and forwarding non-routine requests to appropriate personnelReceives incoming telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner and performs clerical duties as directedAssists with the inventory and maintenance of business office supplies and the completion of business office reportsWorks daily reports, incomplete encounters, No Show reports, and other designated administrative reports according to Company proceduresConducts all front office functions as requestedCare Coordinator Duties:Responsible for total coordination and processing of all patient referrals for specialty servicesFollows protocols for proper authorization and processing of all referralsCommunicate with the patient on a timely basis for all scheduling requirementsCoordinates pre-admission testing requirements with clinic personnel and patient. Complete all administrative functions associated with referral activities in a timely mannerEnters all referrals, hospital, outpatient, DME and other patient specialty health service authorizations into the computer system according to Company policy and procedureReceives consultant reports, maintains documentation, and routes to the appropriate physician promptlyResponsible for monitoring all referral reports not received and timely follow-up in accordance with Company policy and procedureYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED (or higher)1+ years of experience with demonstrated clerical skills (typing, filing, telephone courtesy)Preferred Qualifications:Medical office experienceKnowledge of medical codingKnowledge of business office operations and basic bookkeeping principlesPossess high job accuracy, efficiency, and dependabilityKnowledge of medical equipment and maintenanceKnowledge of HIPAA regulationsBilingual English/SpanishSoft Skills:Ability to interact and verbally communicate effectively with patients and all levels of personnel in a professional, courteous and effective manner with excellent customer service skillsAbility to multi-task in a high paced environment with good organizational skillsAbility to follow written and oral instructions and to work with general guidanceResults and goal-oriented with a philosophy for quality improvementPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.
