Field Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY
KLE is seeking a Field Engineering to join our growing team and support regional projects. The Field Engineer will be working with various stakeholders to establish and organize detailed reports for gas pipeline system integrity in accordance with standards and federal codes. This person will be coordinating field activities and performing data gathering activities for investigative pipeline digs.
OVERVIEW OF DUTIES
With minimal supervision perform a variety of duties including but not limited to the following:
Perform technical analysis to evaluate pipeline condition, root cause analysis, and fitness for service
Review, organize, correct, and help document detailed historical records and data pertaining to gas system integrity to support MAOP Reconfirmation efforts
Organize and maintain pipeline data, assessment reports, technical documentation, procedures, and the basis for all integrity management decisions
Collaborate with various stakeholders to produce effective solutions
Identify and properly manage project risk, tracking metrics to identify potential scope or schedule deviations
Coordinate, and document, pipeline field activities and data gathering associated with investigative digs
Assist in coordinating escalated efforts to remediate discovered asset issues
Track projects from concept through completion, providing field performance updates to Project Managers
Prepare remediation plans and schedule and identify other pertinent risk reduction measures
Identify and track scope changes
Attend regular project meetings
Ensure all data gathering meets Traceable, Verifiable, and Complete (TVC) standards in accordance with federal regulations
Exercise project quality assurance programs for field activities, ensuring adherence to 49 CFR 192 and ASME B31.8S
Provide technical assistance and formulate guidance to maintain pipeline safety and regulatory compliance with technical regulations
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Daily travel in the Richmond to coast regional area of Virginia. Some work from home will be required. Travel to be reimbursed through IRS mileage rate and other actual expenses. Some hotel stays may be required.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
0-2 years relevant work experience
Working knowledge of GIS software (Desired)
Technical communication
Proficient use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
Valid Driver's license
