MEP Manager

ResponsibilitiesBrasfield & Gorrie is seeking a MEP Manager to lead the effort in coordinating and managing the MEP trades on major Industrial projects. This candidate will work with Project team to ensure successful completion of all MEP trade work.Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/recommendations as they relate to the MEP tradesManage MEP subcontractors throughout duration of the project (Construction through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner)Assist Scheduling department with developing detailed CPM schedules for all MEP installation activities, including resource loadingWork with Superintendent on project logistics and facility plansReview material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installationManage the QA/QC process for all MEP installations (including Fire Alarm and Sprinkler)Monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & OwnerCoordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field StaffCommunicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as neededRepresent Brasfield & Gorrie in regard to the MEP process at weekly Owner’s and contractors’ meetingsSupervise, develop and mentor project staff, if applicableParticipate in the 3-D coordination/modeling process of MEP systems to resolve conflicts prior to start of installationsMonitor the performance of all MEP tradesReview MEP submittals and shop drawingsQualificationsEducation - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience5+ years of experience in Construction/MEP CoordinationBachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferredThorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systemsGeneral understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of projectExperienced dealing with MEP subcontracts and subcontractorsProven track record as a Project Manager or Superintendent on large federal projects with values above $25 million (for Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical portions of contracts)
