Senior LIMS Analyst

We are currently seeking a Senior Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Analyst. Candidates must be located within 90 miles of Lansing, MI. Interviews will be in person in Lansing, MI. There is no option for a video interview. The work schedule is hybrid with two days onsite (Wednesdays and Thursdays) in Lansing, MI and three days remote. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule. A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position. Job Description:The position is responsible for taking a lead role in the implementation of two new Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for our client and for providing ongoing maintenance and support of several of our client’s applications supported within the department. These applications are critical for tracking resources and producing reports for Public Health. The resource is integral to supporting and improving our client’s automated processes, streamlining critical business processes, data integrity, SEM/SUITE compliance, and securing the applications. As a lead, the resource participates in a variety of assignments that provides for the enhancement, integration, maintenance, and implementation of projects. The resource also provides application oversight to business analysts in the team that support other applications.Job Responsibilities:Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from lab stakeholders (scientists, technicians, QA/QC, management).Translate laboratory workflows into system requirements and user stories.Conduct gap analysis between current processes and system capabilities.Support implementation, configuration, and enhancement of LIMS and related systems.Collaborate with vendors and IT teams on system upgrades, integrations, and issue resolution.Assist in validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) where applicable.Analyze lab workflows (sample tracking, testing, reporting) to identify inefficiencies.Recommend automation and digital solutions.Standardized processes across labs or departments.Maintain SOPs, user guides, and system documentation.Act as the bridge between technical teams and non-technical lab users.Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and user acceptance testing (UAT).Provide ongoing user support and training.Understanding of laboratory workflows:Sample lifecycle (login, testing, reporting)Instrument integrationQuality control processesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related laboratory science (such as Biology or Chemistry).Over eight years of experience in requirements elicitation and documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories).Over eight years of Process mapping (BPMN, flowcharts).Over eight years of Gap analysis and solution design.Over eight years of Stakeholder management and communication.Over eight years of Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.Experience with LIMS platforms (e.g., Clinisys, STARLIMS, Labware).Over eight years of experience with data migration and system implementation projects.Over eight years of creating training plans and materials.Experience with Azure DevOps.System integrations (APIs, HL7, ETL processes).SQL and basic database concepts.Data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
