Electrical Engineering Manager
Overview
In this role you lead a multidisciplinary electrical engineering team to deliver safe, code-compliant electrical and low-voltage systems for commercial, industrial, and government facilities. You will steer projects from concept through commissioning, overseeing design, schematics, AutoCAD/Revit outputs, and utilities coordination while ensuring regulatory compliance. You mentor staff, manage client relationships, and drive engineering process improvements. ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a cross-disciplinary electrical engineering team with mentoring and performance managementOversee electrical systems design including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and utilities coordination for reliability and safetyDevelop, review, and approve wiring schematics, low-voltage drawings, AutoCAD/Revit deliverables, and technical specsDesign and integrate security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection)Ensure compliance with DoD, DOE, NRC and 10 CFR 73 where applicableCoordinate with structural, mechanical, civil disciplines, contractors, vendors, and utilities to resolve issuesPrepare engineering calculations, design packages, cost estimates, and construction support; participate in commissioning and site testingLead technical reviews, QA, constructability assessments, and continuous improvement initiativesManage project schedules, budgets, resources, and risk to achieve on-time, on-budget deliverySupport business development with technical proposals, scopes of work, and client presentationsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes, standards, and emerging low-voltage and security trends
Key requirementsBachelor in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory roleExperience in electrical systems design, wiring schematics, and detailed AutoCAD/Revit drawingsHands-on with utilities coordination, power distribution, grounding, and low-voltage systemsProven experience designing and integrating CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and related security systemsFamiliarity with DoD/DOE/NRC and 10 CFR 73 regulatory frameworksStrong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA and industry best practicesProject management skills including scope, scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordinationExcellent verbal and written communication for client and stakeholder presentationsAbility to obtain U.S. government security clearance a plus; experience on classified projects preferredProficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, electrical analysis tools, and common office softwareAttention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to safety and quality in design and constructionleadershipmentoringcommunicationAutoCADRevitElectrical systems design
