About the CompanyThe Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading procurement activities for parts and materials for aerospace and defense industry.This position oversees supplier relationships, negotiates pricing and contracts, and ensures timely procurement while maintaining compliance with aerospace/defense industry regulations, import/export control, and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills with experience in purchasing within aerospace/defense or industrial sectors.About the RoleThe Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading procurement activities for parts and materials for aerospace and defense industry.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the purchasing team to ensure efficient procurement operations.Source and procure parts and materials for aerospace/defense programs from domestic and international suppliers.Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms with vendors.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while evaluating their performance.Monitor suppliers’ inventory status and arrange shipment in timely manner.Collaborate with Sales, Accounting, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely product availability and shipment.Analyze purchasing data, market trends, and supplier performance to improve cost efficiency and procurement strategies.Ensure compliance with aerospace/defense industry standards, import/export regulations, and company purchasing policies.Resolve supplier-related issues, including quality concerns, shortages, and delivery delays.Prepare purchasing reports, forecasts, budgets, and management presentations.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement processes and supply chain efficiency.Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree.5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in aerospace/defense industry, including leadership experience such as Assistant Manager.Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills.Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain best practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Experience with ERP or purchasing management systems.Japanese-English bilingual skills are preferred.Pay range and compensation package80K-85K *Employee insurance cost is $0
