Desktop Migration Support Technician (Contract)We are seeking a highly skilled IT professional for a 3-to-4-month contract to serve as a key technical lead in a high-profile CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) domain migration. In this role, you will be responsible for transitioning PCs and user accounts into a secure, compliant domain environment across multiple sites. This position requires a technician who can balance technical precision—leveraging Windows 10 and 11 support, PowerShell scripts, InTune, and SCCM for Active Directory transitions, with a "white-glove" service approach. You will manage the full lifecycle of the migration, from initial hardware imaging and PXE booting to the backup, restoration, and validation of critical user profiles and applications.The successful candidate will possess at least 3 years of hands-on desktop or IT field support experience, with a deep functional knowledge of Windows 10/11 and enterprise-level IT workflows. Because this is a high-security CMMC initiative, you must be exceptionally detail-oriented and process-driven, ensuring every step of the established migration checklist is followed to the letter. Beyond the technical execution, you will act as a guide for end users, coordinating device handoffs and walking them through post-migration setups, including MFA enrollment and profile navigation.This role is designed for a reliable, customer-focused professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. Due to the nature of domain cutovers, this position may require up to 90% travel to major U.S. cities with expenses covered.
