This includes performing complex duties under stressful conditions and taking actions to ensure safe, reliable electric system operations and to alleviate operating emergencies. This description is not all-inclusive; duties may be added or reassigned as needed. What You’ll Do Knowledge of electrical theory and power distribution systems Design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the SRP Distribution System Safety procedures required to work on the SRP Distribution System Skills in the proper use of: Keyboarding Verbal and written communication of highly technical material Software programs used in the Distribution Operation Center (DOC) Ability to: Analyze and diagnose problems in a logical and accurate manner in real time situations Perform moderately complex math calculations, including algebra and some trigonometry Work independently, including organizing work and making own decisions with limited supervision Other duties as assigned Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties. Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers, and the public. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paperwork. May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime. Education and Experience Education : See details under Additional Requirements and Qualifications. Experience : Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices will complete the above tasks and duties under the direct supervision of a journeyworker. Additional Requirements and Qualifications Certifications or Testing Required Critical test System Operator Power Dispatcher II (SOPDII) aptitude test which is to be administered on site during the pre-employment process Educational prerequisites as required by the Distribution System Operator (DSO) Apprenticeship Committee Hybrid Workplace: SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. Drug/Alcohol Policy: SRP is committed to maintaining a drug/alcohol free work environment.
