This role leans heavily toward backend technologies and requires hands-on coding, troubleshooting, and database expertise.The ideal candidate thrives in a production environment, enjoys digging into complex issues, and can partner across engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability and performance. This individual will play a key role in diagnosing issues, improving system reliability, and contributing to ongoing platform enhancements.ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and resolve production incidents by analyzing logs, code, and database behavior across a Java-based application stackTriage incoming support requests, prioritize effectively, and deliver timely resolutions in a ticket-driven environmentPerform deep-dive analysis into recurring issues and implement long-term fixes to reduce repeat incidentsCollaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deploy fixes and improve system resiliencyEvaluate application and database performance trends, identifying inefficiencies and recommending optimizationsContribute code changes and enhancements within backend services built on Java and Spring BootDevelop scripts or tooling to streamline repetitive operational tasks and improve team efficiencyMaintain and evolve internal documentation including runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and post-incident reportsSupport system reliability by addressing scalability, latency, and availability concerns across the platformParticipate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational processes and end-user experienceLeverage monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and partner with engineering teams on remediation strategiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise applications in a production environmentStrong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, with the ability to read, debug, and modify codeSolid understanding of relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server), including query tuning and performance troubleshootingExperience working within Agile environments and supporting DevOps-oriented workflowsFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and distributed system architecturesExposure to frontend technologies like Angular is a plus, though the role is primarily backend-focusedExperience with event-driven or streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka) is preferredWorking knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting fundamentalsExperience with application monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or similarUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and configuration management tools (Docker, Ansible, etc.)Ability to analyze system dependencies and understand how components interact across a technical ecosystemInterest in leveraging AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity and automationPreferred ExperienceBackground in financial services, capital markets, or securities environmentsExperience supporting high-availability, customer-facing applicationsFamiliarity with job scheduling systems and batch processing workflowsProven ability to identify automation opportunities and implement scalable solutionsNext StepsNo C2C, relocation, or sponsorship for this role.For finer details on how eNGINE can impact your career, apply today!
