About the job Mobile Diesel Mechanic Our customer is looking for a Field Service Diesel Technician to diagnosis and repair Diesel Trucks and Equipment in the San Antonio/Austin area. This position is an 8-hour shift with on call responsibilities. This is a busy fast-growing company with offering a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time-off and a 401K.JOB DESCRIPTION:Supporting Diesel Truck and Equipment customers in the San Antonio/Austin area, we are looking for Mobile Diesel Technicians who have good attention to details and strong communication skills. The primary duties of a Mobile Diesel Mechanic include performing diagnostic tests on various vehicles to find faults, analyzing diagnostic test results and repairing or replacing engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components. Mobile Technicians need to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with customers daily.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Running diagnostic tests on vehiclesAnalyzing diagnostic test resultsReplacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systemsPerforming preventative maintenance on service trucksMaintaining a parts inventoryMaintaining detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhering to an inspection procedure checklistChecking vehicle lighting systemsTest driving vehicles to gauge performanceDocumenting and submitting daily work logs/time sheets to supervisorQUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Basic knowledge with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systemsFamiliar with OEM an Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components d aftermarket software- All MakesProficiency with maintenance and repair toolsConduct Bi-directional testingAptitude for mathematics and scienceGood IT and diagnostic skillsExcellent work habits, organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of workGood interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.Two to four years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENCES and REGISTRATIONS:Valid Drivers License and clean driving record.Commercial Drivers License a plus
