The Vendor Performance Management Lead serves as the vendor‐aligned, centralized point of contact responsible for driving performance outcomes across assigned technology labor vendors. This role is critical to executing the Vendor Performance Management Framework, ensuring vendors adhere to operational expectations, meet performance targets, and support strategic workforce needs across Optum Technology. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Own vendor performance management for assigned IT labor / system integrator vendorsServe as the primary point of contact for vendor performance discussions with both vendor leadership and internal Optum stakeholdersTrack, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative performance metrics against defined targetsPrepare and present executive‐ready dashboards, reports, and visualizations to internal leadership and vendorsLead performance reviews and corrective action discussions, including delivering constructive feedback and enforcing standardsSupport the launch and ongoing maturation of a vendor performance framework, including driving adoption and compliancePartner with cross‐functional functional teams in a matrixed environment to resolve vendor issues and escalationsApply project management skills to keep initiatives, reporting cadences, and framework rollouts on trackRequired Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience2+ years of experience in vendor management or vendor operations, specifically within technology labor, system integrators, or workforce vendorsExperience managing vendors in a large‐scale enterprise environment (multiple vendors and stakeholders)Experience creating, managing, and presenting dashboards, scorecards, or performance reports to senior leadershipExperience managing projects or programs end‐to‐end, including defining scope, tracking progress, managing dependencies, and driving execution in a complex, matrixed organizationSolid understanding of technology labor models, staffing lifecycle, and performance metricsDemonstrated ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative performance data and translate insights into actionProven ability to influence without authority and operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organizationProven solid communication skills with the ability to manage cross‐functional relationshipsProven ability to deliver corrective feedback, manage escalations, and hold external partners accountable to performance standardsDemonstrated ability to use AI‐enabled tools to enhance efficiency and output, including lightweight automation or agent‐based solutionsPreferred Qualifications:Analytical or operational excellence certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)5+ years of experience in workforce strategy, technology operations, procurement, or delivery leadershipExperience working within large‐scale vendor ecosystems, particularly technology consulting, system integrators, or contingent laborExperience with vendor performance‐governance frameworks, including QBR/EBR cycles or structured vendor review processesExperience supporting or driving organizational change management initiativesWorking knowledge of technology vendor contracts, commercial models, and negotiation considerationsFamiliarity with vendor management tools such as Fieldglass or similar platforms*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full‐time employment.
