Associate Merchandise Planner, Women's Apparel
OverviewWe are seeking an Associate Planner to join our Planning, Allocations and Strategy team reporting to the Director of Planning. This role supports the execution of planning processes for the Women's apparel categories while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing, and values-driven workplace.This position is primarily based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office and follows a hybrid schedule, dependent on role and business needs.About The RoleEssential Functions:Support financial and inventory planning for assigned categories, supporting pre-season and in-season decision-makingTrack performance against sales, margin, and inventory targetsAnalyze business trends and identify risks and opportunitiesAssist in building and updating open-to-buy plansPartner cross-functionally with Merchandising and AllocationUpdate sales and demand forecasts based on weekly performanceAssist in seasonal forecasting and planning processesAnalyze promotional performance and pricing strategiesMonitor inventory levels, weeks of supply, and sell-through ratesIdentify excess inventory risks and support markdown strategiesPartner with Allocation to ensure inventory is distributed appropriately across channels and storesTrack inbound receipts and inventory flowSupport special projects as assignedAdditional Job ResponsibilitiesOther related duties as assignedSkills & Requirements2–4 years of experience in retail planning, merchandising analytics, or inventory planningStrong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to translate data into insightsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data cleansing, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic modeling)Able to navigate large and complex data sets, build and maintain reporting templatesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field preferredPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.Must be able to access and navigate various departments at the organization's facilities.Benefits At a GlanceComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) retirement plan with company match (eligibility based on hours worked)Generous paid time off and paid holidaysHybrid or flexible work environment (role-dependent)Company-paid life insurance and disability coverageOptional Critical Illness and Accident insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Clothing allowance and generous discounts on J.McLaughlin merchandiseDiscretionary bonus opportunities (role-dependent)Employee referral incentives and commuter benefitsPay Transparency & Disclaimer$66,500 - $70,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.Compensation and benefits may vary based on role, location, and eligibility.
