Corman has an opening for an Truck and Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic in Nicholasville, KY to perform general maintenance on equipment, service repairs, and DOT inspections.
Responsibilities
Applies well-developed knowledge and skills of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repair to a variety of on-rail and heavy equipment as well as over-the-road trucks.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses complicated mechanical failures.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
General trailer repair.
High rail inspections.
DOT inspections.
Maintains equipment cosmetics and cleanliness.
Practices safe working habits.
Ensures working conditions are safe and that proper PPE is being used as job duties require.
Assists storm team when required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: 3 years of mechanical experience with over-the-road trucks and/or heavy equipment or technical degree required. Both a plus!
Physical Requirements: Agility to perform mechanical repair; lifting of up to 100 pounds in the performance of duties.
Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in multiple environments including shops as well as outside construction project settings, in and around moving vehicles and equipment. Possible dusty/oily working conditions to complete repair.
