Backend Software Engineer

What You’ll DoConfidential Client’s Creation Platform team builds the backend platform that powers content creation workflows at scale. As a Backend Software Engineer on this team you will design, build, and evolve large-scale distributed backend services that support multimedia ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery for creators and internal tools.Design and implement backend features that serve global users with high availability and low latencyBuild and evolve distributed services and microservice architectures to support multimedia pipelinesCollaborate with product, frontend, SRE, and multimedia-engineering teams to define API contracts and operational requirementsOptimize data storage, caching, and messaging patterns for throughput and cost efficiencyDiagnose production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and deliver reliable fixes and prevention plansContribute to architecture decisions, design reviews, and technical roadmapsQualificationsMinimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experienceProficient in at least one systems language (Golang, Java, C++, or Python)Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system designHands-on experience with backend stacks such as databases, caches, and message queuesExperienced designing or operating distributed services at scaleStrong analytical, debugging, and communication skillsSelf-motivated with a growth mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience building large-scale backend services for consumer-facing applicationsFamiliarity with multimedia technologies (video codecs, media containers) or media pipelinesExperience with performance tuning, observability tooling, and service reliability practicesKnowledge of cloud-native patterns, container orchestration, and distributed storage systemsCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range (San Jose, CA): $122,574 - $316,800 annually. Compensation may vary depending on experience, location, and other factors. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity awards.Benefits typically include medical, dental, and vision coverage (day-one access), 401(k) with match, paid holidays, sick time, paid time off, parental leave, disability and life insurance, and wellbeing programs.
