Hardware EngineerPosition SummaryThe Hardware Engineer I is an entry-level engineering role responsible for supporting the development, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of hardware products across multiple computing platforms, including servers, networking equipment, and personal computing devices. This role assists with hardware evaluation, test environment setup, failure analysis, and product verification activities to support product quality, reliability, and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.Working as part of the Engineering Services team, the Hardware Engineer I collaborates closely with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and systems integration teams to provide technical support and contribute to successful product development and deployment initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in configuring and maintaining hardware test environments designed to simulate real-world operating conditions and validate system functionality.Support execution of verification and scale testing activities to evaluate hardware performance, reliability, and operational behavior under various scenarios.Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts related to hardware evaluation, validation, and production failures.Assist with diagnosing hardware issues involving servers, network devices, power systems, PCs, laptops, and peripheral components.Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by collaborating with R&D and engineering teams during product transition and ramp-up phases.Help document technical procedures, electrical design details, test methodologies, and troubleshooting findings to support knowledge transfer and process improvement.Maintain organized records of testing activities, failure analyses, debug results, and engineering documentation.Utilize laboratory and diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and soldering tools during testing and troubleshooting activities.Collaborate with peers and senior engineers to complete engineering assignments and support departmental objectives.Provide general engineering and technical support as assigned by management.Required QualificationsFoundational understanding of computer hardware systems and architecture, including system buses, PCIe, USB, and related technologies.Familiarity with server hardware and common system components.Basic knowledge of networking equipment, power systems, desktop PCs, and laptop hardware.Hands-on experience or academic exposure to laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and soldering equipment.Exposure to management and monitoring protocols such as Redfish or IPMI is preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities with close attention to detail.Effective verbal and written communication skills in a technical environment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced engineering organization.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline preferred.Internship, academic project, or hands-on experience involving computer hardware, circuit boards, or hardware testing preferred.Basic laboratory experience with hardware debugging and diagnostic tools is a plus.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.Ability to access and navigate various engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, and operational areas within company facilities as needed.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage (following eligibility period), vacation, sick time, paid holidays, FSA/HSA options, and 401(k) matching program.About Veracity HireVeracity Hire LLC is a professional staffing and recruiting firm based in Orange County, California, connecting exceptional talent with meaningful opportunities across professional, technical, and leadership roles.Our mission is to redefine staffing through authenticity, integrity, and purpose.Staffing with Integrity.
